The Fastest/Simplest Way to Make a Bow Tie

    August 28, 2018 / No Comments

Hey loves, As some of you may know, sewing is a form of therapy that has really turned into a passion for me. When I get something right, it makes my week. And when I get something completely wrong it’s like the world has ended. That’s when the hubby avoids the sewing area at all cost, lol. Well, this is one that I got right. For a couple of years now my father asked me to make him some bow ties. He was the first on my list of many who have asked for me to make them something the minute they found out I could sew. To be honest,…

Why I Made the Decision to go Organic

    July 2, 2018 / No Comments

Hey loves, I know it’s been a while since I have written anything. A lot has transpired over the last couple of months. My health has not been the greatest, so it has been a roller coaster to say the least. July 1st marks the start of a new beginning for me. I have decided to go the organic route with the foods I consume. I have already started to exercise as of last week with my husband, but now we are ready to get really serious. My goal for changing the types of foods I eat is to get my hormones in check and lose excess weight that has…

Simplicity 8216 Pattern Review: Sleeveless Tunic Modification

    March 29, 2018 / No Comments

Today, I'm doing a Throwback Thursday post. I made this top back in June of last year for my trip to the Grand Canyon. I surprised my husband and took him up to our timeshare for his birthday and to see one of the wonders of the world. I knew it was getting a little toasty in Arizona, so I wanted something that would be light and airy for our trip up there. There was an app I used to use, they don't exist anymore, but they would offer style options that you could purchase in the app. I found this one sleeveless shirt that had a bow tie option…

McCall 7686 Pattern Review: Off The Shoulder Bell Sleeve Shirt

    January 24, 2018 / No Comments

I am trying something new this year where I sew 2 -3 garments a month. My goal is to use the fabric that I have been hoarding in my bookshelves and really learn from my mistakes so I can get better. I didn’t want to go at it alone, so I joined a sewing group on Facebook called Sewciety by Kelly H. There are a ton of groups out there, but Ms. Kelly’s is one that stood out to me. The reason why is because I signed up for a sewing fashion show for Mimi G a few years ago. I hadn’t sown anything in years but wanted to put myself…

The Ultimate Guide to Planning Your Dream Wedding at Sandals Negril Resort (Part I)

    January 17, 2018 / No Comments

Chris, my husband and I were engaged in August 2016, not even a week after my 30th birthday. He had planned everything with my friends and family down to what to say to keep me guessing because I don’t like surprises. I’ll save the whole story for another day. As we were sitting around the table with our friends celebrating the questions began. Mind you this was only about 15-20 minutes after I said yes. The questions started with “When do you want to get married?” and “Do you know where you want to get married?“ We were like wait a minute we just got engaged and you were there,…

Hi! Who am I you ask? I am a shy girl who has a sarcastic and goofy side and has found sewing to be my outlet to break out of my shell. I grew up with siblings so I like to share my knowledge with those around me. I look forward to getting to you know you.

Shout out to Marcia from @keechiibstyle If you’re looking for an easy project to get your motivation going, why not start with a simple loungewear set? It’s a great way to practice basic sewing techniques, and you can sure a variety of different knit fabrics to choose from to make it unique. I used Vogue 1835 and McCalls 7607. These projects will give you the opportunity to practice working with stretch knits while still being an enjoyable and achievable project. Good luck! The wait is over! The blog post on this coat is up NOW. Ask me any questions that you have.  I thought I would share some information about myself with you. Which fact is untrue? Here we are, finally. It’s been a crazy year and month - I’ve been dealing with some serious health concerns that required me to take time off from my sewing blog. Thankfully, everything has turned out okay in the end. However, this event wasn’t one of those things that I needed or wanted; it was simply an unwelcome headache on top of too many other issues. Never have I ever… had to roll up fabric like a burrito to stitch a lining in place. This has definitely been one of my most interesting projects. Once it’s done, you will get a thorough blog post of EVERYTHING. Happy Anniversary to my hubby. This is one of my favorite pics of us. Looking forward to more years to come. There is nobody else I would want to be on this journey with. Looking for a unique gift 🎁. I’m dropping sneak peaks until my jewelry shop launch on 11.17.22. Go check out the page @thehouseofhorne Need to revamp a sweatshirt? Here’s an easy tutorial to embellish yours with beads. You can do designs or words. Let your creativity flow. (This is a sweatshirt I made with scrape fabric)
