How to Adjust Any Sewing Pattern From Woven to Stretch Fabric

    December 29, 2020 / 10 Comments

Hey you Introverts, have you ever found a pattern you loved, but didn’t want to make it out of stiff fabric with no give? I will walk you through how to adjust any sewing pattern from woven to stretch fabric. If you follow me on Instagram or on my Facebook page then you may remember the teal sweater knit fabric that you see here. Earlier this year, I mentioned purchasing it from SAS Fabrics. This was at the Phoenix location off of Indian School if you’re curious. Let me tell you one thing I have been working on is my self-confidence with sewing. All the compliments in the world don’t…

Hello my Introverts! It has been a crazy and busy January for me and I am so excited to share some of my other makes from the faux furever challenge last November. I am starting to feel like myself again, but I have some work to do to get back to doing Zumba and you guys know how much I love to dance. For now, I walk and that I definitely over did it this past weekend. I spent time with some amazing ladies from Phoenix Babes Who Create. It’s a group of creative women from all walks of life, bloggers, real estate agents, advertising agents, sewists (wink wink) and…

    It’s Official! I am a Minerva Blogger

    January 26, 2020 / No Comments

Hi Introverts! I have been waiting for months to share the news. Minerva.com reached out to me last year to be a blogger on their site. And of course, I said, YES! How it works is I get to pick fabric from a list that they send out each month and they send it to me to make something beautiful and share with you all and their followers on their site. A lot of people would turn down the offer for free products, but seeing as I sew all the time it made sense. They are helping me feed the monster that I call my sewjo. I was so ecstatic…

Don’t be Like me: Tips to Sew Burda Pattern 6661

    July 12, 2019 / 4 Comments

Happy Friday loves! I always like to search to see if anyone else has made a pattern I’m attempting that way if I get stuck I can reach out and see what they are doing and I hope that others do the same with me. The sewing community is a really open and sharing group of ladies and gentleman. If you decide to join you will not regret it. Well, on my search I only found one other person who had made the jacket. It made me wonder was it the pattern number that kept people away? I get it if it is. I decided that I wouldn’t let a…

Hi! Who am I you ask? I am a shy girl who has a sarcastic and goofy side and has found sewing to be my outlet to break out of my shell. I grew up with siblings so I like to share my knowledge with those around me. I look forward to getting to you know you.

Never have I ever… had to roll up fabric like a burrito to stitch a lining in place. This has definitely been one of my most interesting projects. Once it’s done, you will get a thorough blog post of EVERYTHING. Happy Anniversary to my hubby. This is one of my favorite pics of us. Looking forward to more years to come. There is nobody else I would want to be on this journey with. Looking for a unique gift 🎁. I’m dropping sneak peaks until my jewelry shop launch on 11.17.22. Go check out the page @thehouseofhorne Need to revamp a sweatshirt? Here’s an easy tutorial to embellish yours with beads. You can do designs or words. Let your creativity flow. (This is a sweatshirt I made with scrape fabric) You are an imposter. Does anyone actually say this to themselves? Or is it more just a trendy phrase? Now self-doubt is something that I have said before. Even, experienced sewist get in their heads and think they can’t do something when they’ve made something similar before. This is me with this shacket. The fabric is new to me and I let it get me down. BUT it’s cool enough now to wear coats so I’ve gots to see it through. It’s below 70 degrees bring on the winter coats, 😂. If you live in AZ you know the minute it drops below 70 we are wearing all the fall and winter clothes. Why? Because before you know it it will be 120 again. 😳 Not just for toddlers, you can do a mommy daughter shoot at any age. These are some of my favorites from our mini shoot. Now to find a frame for them. “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” (Fred DeVito) I got it from Walmart. Just in case you were wondering. This little magnetic tool was a random find, but definitely saves me time when I misplace my pin jar. What sewing tool is your favorite?
