Are You Spending Too Much on Fabric?

    May 31, 2021 / No Comments

I used to cringe when I would go to the cutting table at a fabric store and see the dollars racking up. Knowing as the clerk calculated my total I was spending too much on fabric. I told myself that the purchase was worth it because the fabric was too pretty. And then I would get home, pre-shrink it, and stow it away too afraid to cut into it. Does this sound like you?

How to Organize and Save Space in Your Sewing Room or Office

    April 28, 2021 / 7 Comments

Hey Introverts, I know the first question on your mind is, "Where have you been?" I know it's been literally two months since we last saw each other and I totally blame the move for that. We have lived in our old apartment for about 5 years and let me tell you the number of things we (clears throat) I have accumulated was beyond me.

18 Tips on How to Make Your Quarantine Life Easier with a Puppy

    April 26, 2020 / 3 Comments

I’m sitting here in my bed upstairs writing this post because it is the one place I can get work done in peace. I have been handling being quarantined before there was a quarantine/social distancing situation. How is that possible, Ashley? Glad you asked. It was all because of the surgery that I had recently, which I feel fully recovered from now and because we got a new puppy 2 months ago. The vet told us to keep him away from other dogs until he got all his vaccines to avoid him getting sick. Also to keep him in a safe place that is free of other dogs. The only…

Hi! Who am I you ask? I am a shy girl who has a sarcastic and goofy side and has found sewing to be my outlet to break out of my shell. I grew up with siblings so I like to share my knowledge with those around me. I look forward to getting to you know you.

Shout out to Marcia from @keechiibstyle If you’re looking for an easy project to get your motivation going, why not start with a simple loungewear set? It’s a great way to practice basic sewing techniques, and you can sure a variety of different knit fabrics to choose from to make it unique. I used Vogue 1835 and McCalls 7607. These projects will give you the opportunity to practice working with stretch knits while still being an enjoyable and achievable project. Good luck! The wait is over! The blog post on this coat is up NOW. Ask me any questions that you have.  I thought I would share some information about myself with you. Which fact is untrue? Here we are, finally. It’s been a crazy year and month - I’ve been dealing with some serious health concerns that required me to take time off from my sewing blog. Thankfully, everything has turned out okay in the end. However, this event wasn’t one of those things that I needed or wanted; it was simply an unwelcome headache on top of too many other issues. Never have I ever… had to roll up fabric like a burrito to stitch a lining in place. This has definitely been one of my most interesting projects. Once it’s done, you will get a thorough blog post of EVERYTHING. Happy Anniversary to my hubby. This is one of my favorite pics of us. Looking forward to more years to come. There is nobody else I would want to be on this journey with. Looking for a unique gift 🎁. I’m dropping sneak peaks until my jewelry shop launch on 11.17.22. Go check out the page @thehouseofhorne Need to revamp a sweatshirt? Here’s an easy tutorial to embellish yours with beads. You can do designs or words. Let your creativity flow. (This is a sweatshirt I made with scrape fabric)
